The United Kingdom Council for Access and Equality (UKCAE) Pathway aims to promote diversity and inclusion as not only a social or moral goal, but also as a sound business practice.
The UKCAE Pathway encourages each individual to take responsibility for understanding their own role in removing any discriminatory barriers throughout an organisation.
The UKCAE Pathway encourages positive attitudes and actions throughout the entire organisation from the bottom up. By asking people to examine their own preconceived attitudes, the Pathway will enable the breakdown of some common misconceptions and myths and hence enable real cultural change.
The compulsory learning elements of Steps 1 and 2 of the UKCAE Pathway are designed to support this aim by introducing people to the concepts of diversity and inclusion within the wider framework of Corporate Social Responsibility.
UKCAE itself does not provide the learning and development, simply producing Learning Requirements specific to each Step. Members of UKCAE will have access to recommended organisations who can provide associated learning tailored to these Requirements.
